Weaving, as an art form and a technique for construction, is older than humanity. Indeed, we learned it from the birds and the beavers. Basically, weaving consists of joining and interlacing various materials to create a new material. Weaving is connection, growth and community in praxis. There are many ways to weave various materials to make tapestries, baskets, fabric, walls, fences, boxes, bags, and more.

Learn to construct a miniature loom made of birch bark and willow sticks, and use the loom to weave a beautiful small tapestry or pouch. We'll use yarn, string and needles to do the weaving. This is a great introduction to the world of fiber arts for students of all ages.
