About the event
Identifying wild plants is an ancient, invaluable human skill. Plants provide food, medicine, useful materials for tools, supplies and more. Indeed, humans worldwide have cultivated healthy relationships with wild plants, and all non-humans, for hundreds of thousands of years outside the realm of industrial civilization.
Join us for a walking tour of wild edible plants on the Eastern Prom. We'll teach how to identify, responsibly gather, and effectively use edible and medicinal plants. We'll meet at the corner of Congress Street and Eastern Promenade, and walk a short loop around the Prom. You may want to bring a notepad or a camera to document what you learn. We will provide some free, tasty snacks made from foraged ingredients!
NOTE: This class will be held entirely outdoors, rain or shine. Please dress appropriately. The class will begin promptly at the scheduled time. We will not be actively foraging during the class.
