About the event

Intimately getting to know our neighbors in the natural world, be they plants, animals, rocks, rivers, trees, wind directions, weather patterns, etc., is an invaluable, universal, ancient tenet of humanity. Uncivilized humans throughout time have depended on their intimate relationships with the other living and nonliving members of the community of life to thrive. Tree identification is a key human skill and intrinsic to the rewilder's path.

Tree identification is easier in spring and summer, when trees are budding or leafed out! Let's connect, get outside on a summer afternoon, and learn to employ simple techniques to effectively identify most trees by their location, bark appearance, buds, leaves, and silhouettes or growth patterns.

Space in this class is limited. Preregistration is required to reserve a spot in the class. The class will begin promptly at the scheduled time. Please plan accordingly. If you know you can't attend class, a quick phone call or email is appreciated so we can make the spot available to other students. Contact Rewild Maine at (207) 449-7738 or rewildmaine@gmail.com if you have any questions.

NOTE: This class will be held entirely outdoors, rain or shine. Please dress appropriately.
