When we consider nature survival or resilience, some may picture a lone explorer, or even a scrappy few, who venture through unknown lands gleaning what they need from a bitter world. We may practice foraging, crafting, shelter-building and etc. with a subconscious fantasy that we may someday use these very skills to stay alive. And, indeed, for millions of years, humans and our ancient ancestors did use sticks and stones to make fire, hunt and survive. But more than tools or skills, what is needed to weather the world is community. Why has it become so hard to find?

Join us around the fire for an honest meal - foraged, found, homemade or storebought - and a story or something else to swap or trade. We'll have homemade wine, fermented foods, handcrafts, art and music, and bread-on-a-stick. Bring whatever you've got. If nothing else, come with open ears, heart and mind to spend some time together, in the wild world.

Space in this program is relatively limited, as it will be held in a local backyard. Please register if you plan on attending and let us know if you won't be able to make it. This program will be held entirely outdoors. There will be an indoor restroom available and a fire for warmth. Please dress appropriately.

Rewild Maine is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We depend on donations from the community to offer free classes and workshops and we are grateful for your support. Scholarships are available for paid classes on an as-needed basis and nobody will ever be turned away for lack of funds. All donations are tax-deductible.
