About the event

Footwear is important. There are many places in the world where people choose to spend much of their time barefoot, but throughout prehistory shoes of some sort are the norm. There are many ways to make sandals, shoes, boots, and other footwear; usually, shoes have been made from woven plant fibers and/or some type of leather. Many different cultures around the world have developed different but similar designs for minimalist sandals.

Make a pair of minimalist sandals from leather and paracord. Learn a few simple ways to cut the leather and lace up the shoes. Thicker leather is stronger but harder to cut. Leather of various different colors and thicknesses will be available for use. We'll give a brief overview of hide tanning, as well.  All tools and materials required - just bring yourself, your creativity, and a willingness to learn!
