About the event
Weaving, as an art form and a techniqu for construction, is older than humanity. Indeed, we learned it from the birds and the beavers. Basically, weaving consists of joining and interlacing various materials to create a new material. Weaving is connection, growth and community in praxis. There are many ways to weave various materials to make tapestries, baskets, fabric, walls, fences, boxes, bags, and more.
Learn to construct a miniature loom made of birch bark and willow sticks, and use the loom to weave a beautiful small tapestry or pouch. We'll use yarn, string and needles to do the weaving. This event is part of the FCL's Summer Reading and Math Program and is free and open to the public. In the event of rain, we will move the program indoors.
