About the event

Identifying wild mushrooms is an ancient, invaluable human skill. Mushrooms provide food, medicine, useful materials for tools, supplies, and more. Indeed, humans around the world have cultivated healthy relationships with wild mushrooms, and all non-humans, for hundreds of thousands of years outside the realm of industrial civilization.

Join us for a walking tour of wild mushrooms. We'll provide an overview of methods that you will be able to use to identify mushrooms in the future. We'll meet at the Evergreen Cemetery Duck Pond Parking Lot and walk a short loop around the area, and see what we see. The prevalence of mushrooms will depend on temporal weather conditions. You may want to bring a notepad or a camera. We may provide some tasty snacks made from foraged ingredients!

Space in this class is limited. Preregistration, along with a paid deposit, is required to reserve a spot in the class.
