About the event

Acorns, or oak nuts, have remained an important and nutritious food source for many animals, including humans, around the world, for hundreds of thousands of years. The oak tree has sustained human civilization since its inception in countless ways, and acorns are still abundant, delicious and nutritious. Why have we in the Modern West neglected this truly wonderful superfood? How have we in our modern culture nearly forgotten how to harvest, honor and enjoy this incredible gift?

Learn how to identify, gather, process store, and use acorns in the kitchen. We'll cover identification, collection, storage, processing, cooking, and consumption. This is an in-depth lecture-style class with ample time for questions.

Preregistration, along with a paid deposit, is required to reserve a spot in the class. Deposits may be fully refunded in the event of a cancellation a week or more before the class, if the space is filled. Refunds for last-minute cancellations are unfortunately not available. Please plan accordingly.
