About the event
No special knives required: we can use a glowing coal from the campfire to burn the hole for the bowl, and a utility knife, or carving knife, to craft the body of the spoon. This is aa simple, safe introduction to the wide world of wood carving. If you've done it before, come again and practice! Coal-burned spoons look great when you finish them and sand them.
Learn basic knife safety, several different fundamental carving techniques, and how to use a burning coal from the fire to make a spoon bowl. $25 includes all required tools and materials, and one fermented beverage.
Urban Farm Fermentory serves kombucha, jun, cider, mead, and beer with a focus on gruits (a beer style using few or no hops). Their tasting room features 22 rotating taps, with selections shifting seasonally. Pull up a seat, have a drink, and experience a taste of culture!
